Footballer is More Prone to Dementia

 Decreased Cognitive Abilities

Football players are more likely to suffer from dementia diseases such as Alzheimer's, compared to other earth residents, said a new study published The Lancet, Friday (17/03).

The new study included a study that compared medical records of more than 6,000 male soccer players in the top division of Sweden, with more than 56,000 non-Footballer from 1924 to 2019.

A scientist Peter Ueda from Karolinka Institute who leads the study, said the results of the study show that men's elite soccer players in the world have a "serious risk" can experience degenerative brain disorders.

However, for a goal guard who rarely found ball risk can be affected by dementia, "One of the hypotheses is thatunding football with the head repeatedly is the reason why soccer players have greater risks." Said Ueda.
